GAMING MICE COMPARED SIDE BY SIDE

Budget gaming mice compared: G203, Rival 3 Gen 2 or Cobra?

Three wired gaming mice address the same need differently: the G203 focuses on familiar all-round use, the Rival 3 Gen 2 on balance, and the Cobra on a very light build.

Editorial assessment: The 'Best suited to' recommendations are conclusions drawn from product information. Hand size and grip affect fit. The manufacturer's maximum sensitivity alone does not describe the feel.

Fit the mouse to your hand before buying

Find your current mouse model and a tape measure. Compare length, width and height: DPI alone does not predict fit.

  1. Measure your current mouse. Logitech states the G203's dimensions as 116.6 × 62.15 × 38.2 mm (length × width × height). Razer states the Cobra's as 119.6 × 62.5 × 38.1 mm. The Cobra is therefore about 3 mm longer, although the models are roughly the same width. Body curvature also affects grip.
  2. Understand the weight difference. The manufacturer figures are 85 g for the G203, 77 g for the Rival 3 Gen 2 and 58 g for the Cobra. On those figures, the Cobra is 27 g lighter than the G203 and 19 g lighter than the Rival. Weight alone does not tell you which feels better.
  3. Choose the connection type. All models in this comparison are wired. If you need wireless, start with the gaming mouse buying guide and narrow your options accordingly.
  4. Confirm the exact model and retailer terms. Make sure the seller's model name matches this comparison, and check the price, delivery and returns terms with the retailer.

Dimensions and weights are manufacturer specifications, not our own measurements. We do not add dimensions for the Rival 3 Gen 2 that we have not verified with the manufacturer. We have not tested the hands-on feel.

How were the products selected?

We selected models in the same affordable wired gaming mouse category, deliberately with different weights. This helps readers choose for their usage rather than declaring one model best for everyone.

Comparison limitations

We do not measure sensor latency, switch durability or long-term comfort. Manufacturer DPI and weight figures alone do not tell you how a mouse feels in your hand.
